Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the designation of a new professional body to issue educational credential assessments (ECAs) for architects interested in immigrating to Canada. This measure aims to streamline the process for architects seeking economic permanent residence.
New Designated Professional Body The Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) will be designated by IRCC to issue ECAs for architects starting May 20, 2024.
Eligibility
Criteria for Economic Permanent Residence Programs
Applicants must demonstrate the authenticity
and equivalency of their foreign degrees, diplomas, or certificates to Canadian
credentials through an ECA.
Role of the
Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB) CACB will assess the
educational credentials of applicants identifying as architects under the
National Occupational Classification (NOC) code 21200.
ECAs issued by CACB will compare foreign educational credentials to those required to practice architecture in Canada.
