Canada is enhancing its visa services in Mexico by opening three new Visa Application

Centres (VACs) in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara. These additions aim to streamline the application process for Mexican nationals wishing to travel to Canada, fostering closer ties between the two countries.

New VAC Locations:

  • Three new VACs will open in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara at the end of May.
  • These centres will initially offer biometric collection services, with plans to expand to other services such as transmitting and tracking passports and documents.

Existing and Expanded Services:

  • Until the new VACs fully expand their services, applicants can still access all services at the existing VAC in Mexico City.
  • The introduction of these new centres will make it easier for Mexican nationals to provide required biometrics.

Enhanced Accessibility:

  • Mexico will have a total of four VACs in its largest metropolitan areas.
  • This expansion supports travel and people-to-people ties between Mexico and Canada while maintaining the integrity of Canada's immigration system.

Biometric Appointments:

  • Applicants can schedule biometric appointments at any of the four VAC locations upon receiving their biometric instruction letter.
  • Further details are available on the biometrics information page.
