Modesto Announces $200,000 Scholarship Fund for Aspiring Social Workers

Students in Modesto with aspirations of making a difference in their community now have a significant new opportunity. HealthForce Partners, in collaboration with the city of Modesto, has unveiled a $200,000 scholarship fund aimed at supporting students pursuing master’s degrees in social work at Stanislaus State University and the University of the Pacific (UOP).

The scholarship fund is designed to help students overcome financial barriers as they work toward degrees that enable them to support children and families in need. Upon completing their studies, recipients will have the chance to return to Modesto and contribute to the local community through their professional expertise.

The $200,000 fund will be evenly distributed across the two universities, with up to 10 students—five from each institution—eligible to receive $10,000 each. The scholarships are intended to support students over two years of their education.

Students interested in applying for the scholarship can do so through their schools' financial offices. The initiative represents a significant investment in both education and the social fabric of Modesto, aligning with the city’s commitment to fostering skilled professionals who can address critical social challenges.
